Welcome Back Everyone!
We are so pleased that you have chosen the Wilfrid Walker Before & After School Program (WWBASP) to care for your children. This year will be an exciting adventure for both the children and the Council that volunteers their time to run this program for you.
Council wants you to know that your child’s safety is our first priority, and running a smooth program is one way that your children stay safe. Over the summer months, a couple of changes have occurred that we wanted you to be made aware of.
Ana-Maria, who accepted the position as our 2010/11 Program Coordinator resigned her post to start a teaching career, and will be unable to fulfill the role as coordinator. We were sad to see her leave, but wish her the best of luck in her teaching career.
- A senior leader, Jessica, has also decided to leave the program because of another job. Luckily, familiar faces are in the crowd, and Jocelyn and Alana will be returning to the program this fall.
- We have also hired 3 new staff: Taryn, Keatyn, and Chelsea have been hired as leaders. Please introduce yourselves to them.
We want you to know that at the start of the year, we will have growing pains, but that the BASP Council will be as diligent as possible to make the program runs as smoothly as possible without any disruption. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact Duane Banman, Council Chair at 536-2026.
Please make sure to stop and complete a new registration form for your children by the end of the week. We need to make sure that all of your information is up to date.
The Council also wants to inform you that there will be an information meeting on Tuesday, November 2 at 5:30 pm. We would like to encourage you to participate in these meetings. This year, with the lack of coordinator, the program is attempting to be parent-led. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Duane or Lisa if you would like to help out as little or as much as possible.
